In the Port of Rotterdam, at a separate location, The Flexitank Company has a ADR warehouse for hazardous materials and handles the (international) transport of dangerous goods by road in accordance with the current pan-European agreement that regulates the safe transport of dangerous goods by road.

The Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) is an agreement to which over 50 countries are parties, including the Netherlands (since November 1, 1963), and it contains provisions for the safe transport of dangerous goods by road.
This agreement is known worldwide as the ADR. ADR originally comes from a French term and stands for Accord Européen relatif au transport international des marchandises Dangereuses par Route.

In 2021, this agreement was amended, but the long-used abbreviation remained unchanged. This means that we classify hazardous substances based on their hazard properties and our vehicles meet specific requirements set by our national government.

From The Flexitank Company’s perspective, ADR is not only important for the transport of dangerous goods but is also essential for the safety and sustainability of the transport sector.
